I'd only heard wonderful things about Fresh Kitchen from several people lately. Today I decided to try it out for myself and was blown away. Not only were the staff super friendly and helpful, but the food was perfect. Perfect. I decided on the Chicken Curry, which was recommended to me by the super helpful lady working. The seasoning was on point, the portion was on point, everything was on point. Super flavorful and healthy meal and at an amazing price. I will 100% be a regular from here on out. Can't wait to try their other meals!

Fresh kitchen is a great place to get a healthy meal on the go! I got the bison and quinoa meal which was delicious! I added a little bit of siracha sauce and it made it even better. Next time I will try the teriyaki salmon. The decor is very clean and crisp. They have snack bars and juices for sale as well. Too bad I'm not in this area of town very often. Love fresh kitchen!

Delicious & healthy food! The roast beef and chicken curry are scrumptious and full of flavor! The Tuscan breakfast scramble was good too! I bought the energy cookie but haven't tried it yet. I can't wait to go back and try more!!!

At first, I was pretty "weirded out" by the "format" of Fresh Kitchen. Fresh food that is prepackaged and needs to be microwaved? What? But then I got over it and started browsing my options. The staff member saw my perplexed look and came over, asking if it was my first time there. I said it was, & she gave me a quick run down of how things work, including mentioning the bestselling meals: chicken curry & turkey meatloaf. I bought a small package of each bestseller, nuked them for the amount of time listed on the package, and went on my way. When I finally got to my destination, I started eating them. OH. MY. GOSH. Who knew food out of a microwave could taste so good? I devoured both meals, enjoyed every bite, & was quite full. The final calorie count was 520, which really isn't bad for something akin to fast food. I tend to eat a lot, so it's a little more than I'd like to spend all the time for a nuke-able meal. It's still pretty reasonably priced, though. I found the location to be very clean and tidy, and the service was thorough and polite. I can't ask for more! I can't want to go back and try more of their meals!

I'm a little surprised I haven't already written a review of this wonderful place. It's hard for me to say how many times I've been here at this point. The meals here are not only healthy but DELICIOUS, which shouldn't be such a surprise but anyone who has tried to eat healthy in/around Baton Rouge knows what I mean. Some of my favorites are the Cuban Pork (carnitas style pork over black beans and purple rice), Shrimp & Grits, and the Bison Breakfast Bowl (bison breakfast sausage, scrambled eggs, a bean mixture and cheese). They also have a fairly robust salad bar if you're in the mood to make your own. I can honestly say that I have yet to experience a bad meal from these guys. And I'm very excited they are opening a second location in Willow Grove. My next request will be that they begin to label GMO ingredients.

Ain't nobody does it bettah....so fresh and so clean, clean. Sorry everytime I hear the word 'fresh' I start singing along to the Outkast song. None of this has to do with Fresh Kitchen so I'll stop wasting your time. The Fresh Kitchen offers healthy/semi-healthy meals that are pre-cooked and in microwavable containers. They have about 15 different lunch/dinner options and 4-5 breakfast options. They also come in 2 sizes. The smaller size is really small and ranges from 5.50-6.50 a piece, the larger sizes are around 11-12 dollar range. I've been here like 3 times now and all the meals I have gotten are good. The Herbed beef is phenomenally good. It comes with a veggie medley(yellow and green squash and carrots) plus sweet potatoes. The beef is perfectly seasoned and is medium rare. The portions seem small when you look at it but it was actually filling. I've also had the Chicken curry and Beef Stroganoff. Those were both solid but not as good as the herbed beef. I've actually never seen beef stroganoff except on a Hamburger Helper box. This place is great for the working mom, the business traveller with a microwave in his hotel, or the single person not wanting to cook a big meal. They have microwaves there so you can eat right away plus a salad bar as well. I've made this place a weekly spot for me when I'm here for work. I wish we had one in NOLA.

Just had my first meal from here and it was delish! I can't wait to go back and get some more. What's even better is that I got my hubby to eat it too! Wish I could just stock my fridge for every meal all week with their stuff. It's a little on the pricier side, which is why I won't be doing that. The employees were super friendly and helpful. they explain to you about the different colored boxes and what you should get if you have certain dietary restrictions etx. If you are a healthy foodie or just like a good meal, I recommend you check them out. You can also eat in the store as well.

"Freshly Prepared Health Foods". I was super excited to come here! Such a great establishment! Baton Rouge is always in need of more health-food options! In fact, there should be healthy food options in every neighborhood... we should not be without them! There is much to say about this place, but I will keep it brief... you need to visit yourself! The space was neat, clean and well organized! I was immediately drawn to the self-serve salad bar... so many fresh greens! Prepared and packaged fresh, foods ready for your consumption! If you cannot wait to take it home, they have a microwave there and a small eating area. I tasted the vegetarian chili and it was excellent and I was in hurry to get to a meeting, so I had it had to be eaten cold (if you are not picky like that)! I got to meet one of the owners - Ryan McNeil and it was sincere pleasure. He was truly excited about bringing this concept to Baton Rouge! I am a health nut and love places that use the freshest ingredients to feed the masses! Just spending a few moments inside Fresh Kitchen, I felt invigorated and energized to finish out the rest of my day. Fresh Kitchen is here to encourage healthy eating and instead of turning to fast-food, turn here! The food is already prepared for you in portioned sizes, so buy what you need and why wait? Eat it there, like I said they have a microwave to warm up your food! *Baton Rouge Health Food * Baton Rouge Freshly Prepared Food * Health Food Close To Baton Rouge Towne Center *

Stopped by after a trip to Whole Foods on the weekend, because I'd been following their progress on Instagram as they worked on opening, and they are finally open! The owner was running the place, he's very friendly and enjoys talking about the products, and made sure we knew how the system worked. Everything is pre-made, except for the salad bar. There are two sizes of meals you can get, and they come in little plastic take-out containers you can heat up in the microwave, with a protein and two sides of veggies (like roasted potatoes and green beans). They had a large variety of dishes, and they pride themselves on local/organic/humanely raised meats and veggies in their dishes. The meals have a shelf life of 5 days (so you could essentially buy a weeks worth of meals if you don't cook). They also have some drinks and yogurts and snacks. Prices are a little bit expensive but once meals get close to their "expiration date" they are reduced to half price. For example, my husband got a honey-mustard chicken meal for $11.25 and I got marked down roast beef for $5.25. They were very good but portions seemed a little bit small. I can see this place being great for a lunch stop during work hours, or a quick meal pick-up on a night you don't feel like cooking, especially if you live close by! They are competing with Whole Foods' hot bar but I think they'll do well.

Love the premise of healthy meals to go! Food tastes great and prices are comparable. The staff is knowledgeable and always willing to help and answer questions. I hear they are opening another location and are partnering with OLOL on some projects.

This place would have gotten 5 stars from me if they had given customers the option to use a microwave or an oven for heating meals. He sole purpose of clean eating is defeated by using radiation to kill all the nutrients I just paid $11 for. I'll gladly come back again to bring some prepped meals home but I can no longer use this as an option to eat before going to work out. I hate microwaves and I pretty much solemnly swore never to use them again unless it's an emergency. If you do your research, you'll learn the harsh truth about microwaves. It pretty much makes absolutely no sense. They're selling great food. But you're making me kill the food I'm about to eat by only slowing me to warm it with a radiation machine. Go figure.

Today is 8/30/14 I had my first visit to Fresh Kitchen and it's everything awesome I had about , the owner was very friendly to talk too , I got a very warm welcome when I walked in .. The staff was ready to answer questions .. I loved the dinner I got , calling all health and fitness people this is a awesome place to visit for very healthy choices !

Maybe I went at the wrong time but the selection was very underwhelming and seemed overpriced even for organic fare. There were maybe 20-30 items total and for a very small portion of tandoori chicken and steamed veggies 9.95 seemed expensive for an item that honestly didn't look very appetizing. There a few dessert options and numerous beverage options but most could be found right across the street at WF for a cheaper price and with better selection .It was really disappointing having seen this concept done well in Boston, NYC and even in a quirky little co-op grocery in Jackson, Mississippi's historic Fondren area but Baton Rouge is a good sized city and I'll hope for the best and give it another try.

I recently bought some pre-made meals from here because I knew I was going to be working a lot this week and didn't feel like cooking. I have been very surprised at how delicious they are. Usually when you get healthy pre-made food it seems to be lacking in the flavor department, but not these. The flavor really comes from the fresh ingredients. They are filling and satisfying. They are a little bit pricey, but I feel like you get what you pay for. It's still probably less than you would pay to eat out. So far I've had the shrimp and grits and the deconstructed shepards pie. I can't wait to try some more!

Stopped by and grabbed the shrimp creole-heated in the microwave for a minute-it is outstanding! Will definitely be going back
